Happy Birthday Jed Blaine!

001003

I cannot believe this little guy is ONE already!  A little over a year ago, there was so much fear, worry and unknown.  We were camped out at Camp Andersons for over a month, going to 2-3 doctor appointments a week and just waiting, praying and hoping for the best.  Now, two heart cath procedures, two months of oxygen, lots of shots and tons of doc appointments later, we have such a happy, healthy adorable little boy.  We couldn’t be more grateful for the way  things have turned out for Jed.  He is such a blessing to our family and has taught us all so much about life, love and the power of prayer.

I had these taken at J.C. Penney’s a few weeks before his birthday.  Lil’ Cowboy!!

Our little cowboy still isn’t walking.  I thought for sure he would have been by now, but he is very cautious and seems to prefer to crawl at this point.  Fine. With. Me!  He is eating most everything we have for dinner now, plus some baby foods still.  We’ve also started giving him whole milk in his sippy.  He loves most veggies and goes crazy for pizza or Mexican food.  His new word is “this.”  He point to everything and says “this, this, this…” until someone acknowledges the object he is pointing to and hands it to him.  Pretty demanding for a one year old!

We of course had to throw him a party and celebrate his health and such an amazing year!   Here is the birthday boy the morning before his party.

Since one of Jed’s favorite foods is pizza, we had his birthday at Brewers.  We mostly had family with some close friends.  And based on his cowboy pics, I went with a cowboy theme for his party!img321

Some of these pictures came out so blurry, but wanted to include them anyways for the book.  He was a little flirt with the ladies and clearly had a blast ripping through all the tissue paper!

I think he enjoyed everyone singing to him more than the actual cupcake, but he made a pretty good dent in his cupcake.

What a week!  We also had lots of fun festivities with Halloween being last Friday.  Here’s Colbie all decked out for crazy hair day for her fall carnival at school.

And here is our Ninja Warrior, Elsa and little duck!

This was Grayson’s first costume, so I thought it would be need to let Jed where it too.  010012

That’s Grayson on the right, just a couple months older than Jed.

Carved a scary man and kitty cat this year!

Stopped by DeeDee’s for a trick-or-treat before the fall carnival at Yuma Lutheran.

So with pretty much every little girl being obsessed with Frozen and Elsa this year, we weren’t surprised to run into several other Elsa’s at the carnival!  It made it difficult to keep track of Miss Colbie, especially because she likes to run off when she see’s a friend or something she wants to do.  Here she is with a little Elsa friend from dance!

After the carnival, we managed to get in about a half an hour of trick-or-treating.  Blaine took the kids while I watch my little duck and passed out candy.  Our neighborhood was once again completely insane… you easily go through about $50 of candy in an hour, and that’s being stingy!  Love seeing the kids, but adults with sacks sort of makes me furious… and unfortunately, we get lots of those.
