1st Day of School!

So today was Grayson's 1st day of school at Casa de Ninos! I have to admit, I sort of had a melt down after I dropped him off, not because he cried when I left (I knew that would happen!), but because I just feel like he is growing up so fast. I know, he's not even 2 1/2 and he is only enrolled part time, but never the less, it IS preschool and he is a walking, talking, potty-trained little boy now and it just seems like yesterday that he was an infant (like Colbie!) and school seemed centuries away! First day seemed to be a huge success, as he was all smiles and not even that excited to see me when I picked him up! He had lots to tell me about his day and was actually wearing the same pair of chonies that I dropped him off in! I am so proud :)

Proudly showing off his backpack, which he stuffed with random toys, crayons, coins and his lovey (of course!). We let him take his lovey, but took out the rest of the contents when he wasn't looking!

Other than that, just wanted to share some pictures from the past week.

Colbie and Daddy after a tough day at work!

Go Diego Go! This is probably Grayson's favorite cartoon right now, as well as Dora, Dino Dan and Wonder Pets!

Having a little lunch with Tigger!

Grammy with her babies last week.

On the verge of laughing these days!

Molly decided she liked the double stroller! This is a good thing Molly because you may have one of your own here shortly!!

Playing catch with Uncle Ryan!

Grammy's little "Sweet Pea!"

Enjoying a little Spider Man popsicle!

My mom had her second round of chemo today. Three weeks down and nine to go! You are over a quarter of the way done already Mom! We love you are we were thinking about you today!

Bangin' Tigers!

Don't ask me why, but tigers have been a thing for Grayson for the last year it seems like. At first he was afraid of them and now, as you'll see in the video, he likes to "bang em'!" He has such a BIG imagination these days. For example, he loves to cook for you and brings you cookies or hamburgers or broccoli in the form of several different objects he may be playing with. He'll ask you if you need salsa or salt or pepper. The other day, he brought my mom some cookies and she took one from his imaginary bowl. He then yelled at her and said..."no, not THAT one Grammy...the LITTLE one!" Right now, he was just "fishing" using a broom stick with a kite handle and string tied onto one end. He came running to me saying, "I caught a BIG fish mom!" Then threw it in the air with such enthusiasm and said...."oh, it's slippery! Hold it mom, it's slippery!" The funny thing is, if you initiate playing pretend and give him a spoon or something and say "here's a cookie for you Grayson," he'll get all practical on you and say, "No, Mommy, that's not a cookie, that's a spoon!" STUPID MOMMY! And then, as you'll see in this video, we are looking for tigers to "bang!" This is definitely a favorite imaginary past time for Grayson!

All Smiles!

Colbie started smiling this week and I managed to get it on camera today. It sure melts your heart when she smiles right at you! Took the kids up to Laguna last Wednesday to visit Grammy and Papa. Because Blaine obviously works, I was on my own with the kids and the driving. They both did awesome in the car and it would have gone a lot smoother had we not hit traffic in the last hour. This made our drive quite a bit longer and more stressful, as we had to pull over, get everyone fed, happy, use the potty, etc. Blaine joined us on Friday, which was great to be able to spend the weekend together. Plus, I had someone to follow on the way home, which made me feel a little safer. We had a nice trip over there. Took Colbie to the beach for the first time. Of course, I forgot my camera so I really didn't get any pictures until Blaine came up. We had awesome weather....60-70 degrees and sunny the entire time. Grayson had a ball at the beach as always and we also took him to a couple fun parks while we were there. Had some great meals and just enjoyed hanging out at the condo with Grammy and Papa. My mom started her chemo on Tuesday and is doing great for the most part. She really doesn't complain, but we know she definitely doesn't feel her normal 100%. As of today, she has one week down and eleven to go! Way to go Mom! We love you and are so proud of you :-)

Everyone else is doing well here. Grayson is really coming along with his potty training. It's a longer process than I would have hoped, but there is definitely progress. He pretty much wears his "big boys" all day and just wears a pull up at night and during his nap. As long as we are on top of it and remind him, he keeps his big boys dry. He's actually gotten to the point where he doesn't want our help and wants to do it "by self!" He can do everything except he still asks for help with pulling up his pants.

Grayson starts preschool the beginning of next month! I decided that the fact that he can put a DVD into the player and start a movie on his own meant that he was ready for a little more interaction and activity! He will go just the days that I am at work, but if he enjoys it, I may enroll him for an additional 1/2 day when I can try to get some things done! I have made 4 trips to Wal-mart with both kids since Colbie's been born, and let me tell you, it is a handful....literally!! We are learning, but it is a such a process! It would be nice to have at least one morning a week with only one child, where I could get my shopping, cleaning, ect. done!

Colbie's doing great too. Slept in her crib for the first time last night. I was hoping that maybe that would give me a better night's sleep, but I was wrong! She still wakes constantly at night....I think it was 11, 1, 2, 4, and then by 6 we were up! She isn't always hungry, but just needs you to rock her back to sleep. She is definitely developing a BIG personality and has an angry cry and face when you set her down. She knows what she wants and she gets it because I pretty much end up holding her for most of her awake hours. She'll tolerate the swing or the bouncer for little bits at a time, but for the most part, she wants to be held! Who wouldn't though, right?!

At the park with Papa in Laguna. I wonder why he loves his Papa so much?!

Hope everyone is well! Have a great week!

Club House Clowns!

What happens in the club house stays in the club house!

Grayson's walk-in closet has turned into the perfect little playroom/"clubhouse," as he likes to call it! Usually it's a "boys only" territory and Mommy is not welcome, but I had the honors of being invited into their little world last night and caught the clowns in action on camera!

It's Not Working!

"It's not working. My potty is broken!"

<>These were the words out of Grayson's mouth as he stood with his head down, standing over his froggy potty with such a look of disappointment. And he wasn't referring to the froggy "potty," when he said it was "broken." No, he was talking about his pee pee not working, poor guy! Yes, we are back to potty training...round two! Grayson says this every time we go and nothing comes out! I don't know if it's the chaos of having two now or what, but it has been a bit of a struggle for us the past couple days and actually seems a little harder than when we tried a few months ago. Granted, he does go in the potty 9 times out of 10 when we ask him, but if we don't catch him in time, we've got a mess to clean up! He tends to tell us after the fact! When Grayson said this the other day, I really had to keep from cracking up and had to try to explain to him that his "potty" works just fine, but that maybe he doesn't have to go right that second and that we will just try again later. We'll get there...eventually anyhow!

A cute picture of Grammy sportn' her adorable new haircut! She starts her chemo treatments this Tuesday at Scripps. We love you Grammy and know you are going to do awesome! We will be sending hugs and kisses your way!

Doing some watering in our "super grover" undies!!

Starting to outgrow Becca's outfit! Check out that belly!

Oh, and if anyone likes The Sandlot, come on over to my house because we have the movie playing on repeat! I know I shouldn't let him watch that much TV, but I seriously can't keep him from it...after all, he does know how to get the step stool and can put the DVD's in the player! Horrible, right?! Grayson is completely in love with this movie though!

Well, that's all for now. Hope everyone has a great week!

One month in the books!

Happy to report that Colbie's one month check up today went great! She is a happy, healthy and thriving baby, weighing in at 9 lb 4 oz and 22 inches long now!

Here are a couple pictures from New Year's Eve. With a 2 year old and a newborn, we definitely aren't the most exciting people these days. A glass of wine, a yummy homemade dinner and some Sparklers and Pop-its for Grayson and we were happy and in bed by 9 pm! It was a nice weekend, especially since we got to have Blaine home for both Saturday and Sunday. Having a second set of hands around the house, as well as having an adult for me to talk to was a real treat! We actually took Grayson (and Colbie... although of course she just slept the entire time!) to see Tangled at the movies on Sunday. It was actually a really cute movie and Grayson seemed to love it. Already loving those chick flicks just like his Daddy!
Grayson seemed to think that the higher you jumped, the louder the POP!

Ok Grammy, maybe you shouldn't look at this one!! I can just hear you! Note: he does have gloves on!

Wanted to share this picture for my parents, as they are in Laguna right now. We got Grayson a Leap Frog Clickstart for Christmas and finally got it set up in our den, using one of Papa's shelves and the chair that they got him for Christmas last year. He seems to really enjoy it so far.

Daddy's Girl!

Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!
