Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Yay! Last post of the year! This means that I get to print another family book! I have tons of pictures to cram in for that reason.  Going to start by including a few family pictures that we had taken this November with Jennifer.

LOVE this little smirk… this defines Jed’s personality entirely!  Mr. “I know I’m cute AND I’m the third child and can get away with pretty much anything!  All I have to do is whine really really loud!  And I AM LOUD!  Mr. I’m also WALKING now!! That’s right!”  December 22nd was the big day.  Suddenly, it was like he just made up his mind that he was done crawling and took off walking ALL OVER THE PLACE!  What a year for you Jed!  You’ve been off of oxygen for an entire year, went through another heart procedure in April, learned to crawl, learned to walk, learning to talk and have completely mastered the art of having the floor at all times!

Miss Colbie Elaine… what a year for you!  Our turbo, bossy, feisty little love bug!  You learned to swim this year (at only three!), had your first dance recital, loving you new preschool and new friends and participated in your first school programs and fundraisers.  Still such a girlie girl, love your babies, obsessed with Queen Elsa, starting your first season of soccer and on the verge on riding a bike with no training wheels!!

And our biggest boy… Mr. Grayson Scott!  Our quiet and caring little athlete!  Started kindergarten this year, learning to read and has real homework and loves it!  First summer with swim meets, hunts with Dada and the big boys and now a chicken farmer!  Starting his third season of soccer and counting down the days till baseball starts up again.  Lost his first tooth and started piano this year!

The Christmas festivities began….

Making a gingerbread village with Grammy.

I didn’t get a picture of it, but Tall has been super busy and naughty this year! He “rudolphed” Blaine’s truck and Grammy’s car.  The kids got a real kick out of it and the boys just loved driving around with big old antlers and a red nose! HeeHee!  Here, he left out a super nutritious breakfast for the kids!

For Christmas Eve, we did some hopping around… delivering presents, meeting up with my family at Uncle Reed’s and celebrating Christmas with Blaine’s family out at Buddy’s after that.

Although it was late when we got home, we still had time for a few Christmas books, blow kisses and bid Tall farewell,  and most importantly, to leave out cookies & milk for Santa and some celery for the reindeer.

Santa came!!  The kids later discovered that the reindeer munched up the celery outside where the sleigh must have landed, leaving the kids new bikes and Jed a slide!

We ended up hosting Christmas dinner at our house too.  I think we all got the biggest kick out of watching the kids open their stockings that night and busting up over whoopee cushions and the aroma of all the “parflone!” Santa brought the kids some Batman cologne and Cinderella Perfume in their stockings and Colbie just came up with her own brilliant version of the two, calling it “parflone!”

The chickens have gotten huge over the past few weeks, so the boys made nests for them and transferred them from the garage to the coupe in the backyard.  It’s been freezing here lately, so we were enjoying having to be all bundled up for a change!  And yes, Colbie is wearing shooting ear muffs because Blaine was using his chain saw!

Colbie had several “owies” this particular day! I think she may have already gone through her new box of Band-Aids!

Ringing in the New Year!  We had a nice low key night with the kids.  It happened to be one of the coldest nights yet, getting down in he 30’s overnight!  We made a little fire in the front, made hot chocolate and did some fireworks!  In bed by 10:00…. that’s my kinda night!!

What a year it’s been! Thank you God for looking after our little miracles and for all of life’s blessings!  Life definitely feels crazy and overwhelming at times, but when you have time to reflect, you realize that we all have so so much to be grateful for.  Can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for all of us!
