Move over Princess Chirp!

 

We have yet another new member of the Morris household, thanks to Grandpa Buddy!  It seems like every time we go out there to visit, we are being coaxed into adopting a few new farm animals.  I guess we should feel lucky that he didn’t send Grayson home with a baby goat or a flock of chickens.  We didn’t really have a choice when Mr. big brown eyes walked up to us holding a crate with a baby pigeon in it saying Buddy said he could take him home.  Ok, I guess we had a choice, but we chose to forgo the fight and gave in this time.  I also got comfort in knowing that eventually it will learn how to fly away!  So, baby “Fluffy” is now living in our garage in Princess Chirp’s old cage, which is actually Chase’s old kennel.  Blaine has purchased some “baby bird formula” and a box of worms for this new pet and has become quite skilled at hand feeding it.  This is a good thing because I like to keep my distance!

And this is a wild jungle creature that we found prowling around the house, but was luckily around for a day or two. 

Still picking lots of tomatoes and peppers in our garden.  These two prefer to harvest in the nude!

Grayson’s final t-ball game was last Monday.  The team had a little party in the park afterwards.  Colbie of course wanted to be part of the team and put Grayson’s old soccer jersey and cleats on for the occasion.  Wish I got a picture.

Numero Tres!

So we have some pretty big news to share!!! Colbie is going to be a BIG sister and Grayson a big brother AGAIN!  At almost 4 months along, we are expecting another Morris baby early November!!

We are thrilled and excited for our growing family!  Grayson is already the best big bro a sister could ask for and Colbie is a natural “little mama” with her baby dolls and purses.  We are also a wee bit nervous about officially having more kids than adults in the household and the thought of ever having to convert to a mini-van still frightens me!  Hopefully the Pilot will at least get us through a few more years!

We announced the news to the kids and my parents the weekend we spent in Laguna for our Anniversary and my Dad’s baptism.  We put the kids in these shirts and had them bring my Dad some special announcement M&M’s.  It still took my Dad a little while to put it all together!  My mom had actually known for a few weeks prior, but I made her keep a secret till we could tell him!

We waited until Mother’s Day to share the news with the entire family.  My parents had a nice brunch at their house that morning, so it seemed like an appropriate time to let everyone else in on our little secret!

The kids got to show off their dance moves again at Blaine’s cousin Michael’s wedding a few weeks ago!  Looks like she’s doing some Kung Fu Panda!

We’ve done several things to the house since we found out about number three!  Our most recent project involved tearing out our carpet and re-doing our bedroom…..new paint, new bedding, new wood floors!  We decided to re-arrange some of our furniture and make a temporary nursery in our room till the baby is old enough to share a room with either brother or sister……And we won’t know this till the baby arrives!  Although I am dying to know what we’re having this time around, we will do as we did with the first two and make it another surprise!

I wish I took a before picture because it looks completely different, but we were really happy with the way it all turned out.  The kids even got to add their personal touches!

After our trip to Laguna, I had the urge to chop all my hair off again and Colbie got her first official trim that day too!

Took the kids to see the Croods a couple of weekends ago.  This was the first movie theater show that Colbie sat the entire way through.  It helped that it was a super cute movie!

Buddy made an adorable picnic bench for Colbie recently.  The kids have already enjoyed a few meals outside on it!

Feels like we are well into summer already with these recent hot temps.  We’ve been using the pool almost daily now for the past two weeks.  Grayson pretty much picked up where he left off last summer and is swimming like a fish and we are hoping to get Colbie swimming by the end of this summer too.  Grayson has also been working hard with Daddy lately on ditching his training wheels and learning how to ride a bike!  While he still needs some practice with stopping and starting off, he is doing awesome!  Here is a video from a couple weekends ago.
